My Top 10 Favourite Chick Flick Movies

I absolutely love movies, and I'm a total film fanatic. Therefore, I decided that I am going to create a blog series of where I tell and describe to you my top 10 favorite films from different genres and categories.

To kick off 'My Top 10 Movie Blog Series' I am going to be telling you about my 10 most favorite chick flicks of all time. So whether your having a girly night in with the girls, or just fancy watching a good old chick flick then keep on reading below to see what some of my best-loved ones are and, a brief description in my own words of what they are about...
My Top 10 Most Favorite Chick Flick Movies

1. Angus Thongs And Perfect Snogging (2008)
To start with in opinion, my most favorite Chick Flick movie of all time has got to be Angus Thongs And Perfect Snogging. Originally a teen book series written by author- Louise Rennison it is about a teenage girl called Georgia and her experiences growing up. The girly British comedy,  gives you an insight on Georgia's life as a typical teenage girl while trying to plan her birthday party but at the same time still worrying about the way she looks, dating boys, popularity and her friendship with fellow best friends (The Ace Gang).

2. The Notebook (2004)
My second favorite chick flick movie is The Notebook. A romantic drama, based on the Nicholas Sparks novel is one of the most heart warming films I have ever seen. Set in the early 1940's it is about a tale of a young couple who fall in love but, face many difficulties in their relationship.

3. Wild Child (2008)
Spoilt, wild American teen, Poppy Moore has pushed her father to the limit, leaving him no choice but to send her way to a boarding school in the country side of England; in which her late mother once attended. At first she hates everything about it and tries anything in her power to get thrown out of the school. However, after making a great group of friends and meeting a posh, handsome boy- Freddie she realizes that this is where she wants to be despite facing being expelled.

4. Mean Girls (2004)
Mean girls is probably one of the most famous, well known chick flick movies of all time. After living in Africa and never attending school before, Cady could never have possibly imagined just how wild high school life is, and what it means to be popular. Set in a high school, the comedy- chick flick follows the lives of four teenage girls (the populars) and the rules they have to abide by to in order to be accepted, even if it means being a total mean girl.

5. St. Trinian's (2007)
St. Trinian's, a school for 'young ladies' is full of uncontrollable, unruly, manipulative girls who are lovers of explosions, destruction and all things devious. However, when their school begins to buckle under bankruptcy the group of school girls come together in order to hatch a plan to save their school.

6. The vow (2012)
I can honestly say that I love this film unconditionally. The words throughout are beautiful and melt my heart every single time I watch it. Based on a true story of a couple who are madly in love, end up involved in a car accident leaving Paige in coma. After finally waking up, Paige suffers from severe memory loss, resulting in her not being able to remember anything from her recent past including her husband- Leo. This leads Leo on a path of true love in order to win back his wife's heart by trying to get her to fall in love with him all over again.

7. LOL (2012)
In an age of being surrounded by social media, as wells as the pressures of growing up as an average teen at high school, the film LOL shows you the experiences through both the daughters and mothers eyes. As a new school year begins, Lola's heart is broken by her boyfriend, but now single she falls for her best friend Kylie. Overall it is a fabulous teen movie that goes down brilliantly at sleepovers.

8. Hairspray (2007)
Definitely my most favorite musical of all time, I love everything about this fun, entertaining film- from the songs and dances to the outfits and scenery. Set in the Sixties (my favorite era) teenager Tracy Turnblad teaches Baltimore to embrace integration after landing a spot on a local TV dance show- The Corny Collins Show. This fun loving film is sure to set you dancing happily around your bedroom, as wells as learning a very important message about life and acceptance.

9.  27 Dresses (2008)
Landing 9th place in my top favorite chick flick movies is 27 dresses. After being a bridesmaid 27 times for other people, a young woman has to face the idea of standing by her sister's side as her she watches her sibling marrying the man she's secretly in love with and works for. Will Jane ever find her true love and experience the best day of her life for herself? This is a perfect romantic comedy for all ages to enjoy.

10. 13 Going on 30 (2004)
Lastly on my list of my top ultimate chick flicks, and making tenth place is the film- 13 Going On 30. A 13 year old girl wishes she could just grow up and be 30 already. One birthday all of her wishes come true and wakes up the next day as a 30 year old woman. Thirty, flirty and thriving, is being in your thirties really the best time of your life?

So that's it folks, the first blog post of my new 'Top 10 Favorite Movie series'. I hope you enjoyed hearing all about what some of my most favorite girly films of all time are, and getting a brief low down in my own words of what they are about.

May Beauty Favourites 2014

The following will be about all things beauty related that I have been loving recently in the month of May-

Skincare (face)

Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser-
For my skincare, I have been using the same facial moisturiser for over 6 months now, and for me I personally have not found another product quite like this Simple one. I have dry skin, prone to sensitivity and breakouts and this moisturiser does exactly what it says on the bottle, it is light, and hydrating on my skin and is also a really great price for such an amazing product. I would definitely recommend it.

Asda- Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser £3.99

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water-
The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water has had a huge impact on my skin in such a positive way. This is due to the fact that I always used to use facial wipes to try and take off my makeup (bad idea) as it it made me break out, and even after scrubbing at my face, traces of makeup were still evidential. Now however, after squirting a few drops onto some cotton pads and swiping my face with this glorious cleansing water it has never been easier to remove my makeup. Although, for me I am already on my second bottle and personally do not think it lasts for 200 uses that it claims to.

Boots- Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water £4.99

Skincare (body)
Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturiser
In England the weather has been lovely and warm recently (for a change) so whenever the slightest bit of sun comes out I like to embrace it. Therefore, moisturising has been essential in my current routine after stepping out of the shower, to make sure my skin is healthy looking and well hydrated. The Vaseline Spray & go moisturiser is perfect for doing so- It is quick, effective and does the job perfectly. You simply sake the can, spray onto the skin in where you wish to apply moisturiser to, and then rub in, allowing it to immediately soak in. This is by far my all time most favorite body moisturiser, mainly due to the fact that unlike many other body moisturisers, the Vaseline Spray & Go does not leave you sticky and waddling like a penguin waiting for it to dry for ages.
Boots- Vaseline Spray & Go Body Moisturiser £4.99

Makeup-
L'Oreal Paris True Match Minerals Foundation
I can honestly say that i have been converted from any other type of foundation. The L'Oreal Paris True Match Minerals Foundation is a life saver! It is smooth and buffs into the skin beautifully in no time at all, making my face look flawless and glowing once finished. It can be applied on it's own, or over liquid foundation for extra full coverage and you only need to use a very small amount. There are only two negatives about this product however, which are that it is extremely messy (so do not apply when wearing clothes you do not wish to get dirty), and that the brush attached is uncomfortable and quite prickly almost.
To solve this problem though I would recommended using another brush.
I use the Real Techniques Powder brush to apply and buff into the skin- it is extremely soft and a great brush to use.
Boots- L'Oreal Paris True Match Minerals Foundation £14.99
Real Techniques Powder Brush- £12.99

L'Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Mascara-
Throughout May this has been my go-to mascara. It makes my lashes look luxurious, long, full and, it does not clump and flake throughout the day (bonus!)
Boots- L'Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Mascara £10.99

Benefit Dandelion Blush-
I have never really ever used powder blush until recently, as I usually either use Benefits- Benetint cheek and lip stain instead. Although, when I bought Benefits Sizzlin Six starter kit on a flight back in April I automatically fell in love with the blush it had inside. I personally think that the whole kit in general is fantastic and contains brilliant sample sized versions of some great products. The blush is a lovely rosy, light pink colour that looks natural and is perfect for my skin tone, and the look in which i wish to achieve. Although it is a sample size you do not need to apply very much, so I'm sure it will last quite a long time. Once the product is used up I am defiantly going to buy the full size, despite the high end price.

Benefit Dandelion Blush

Hair
Samy Fat Amplifying Hair Mousse-
This Fat Hair "0" Calories Amplifying Hair Mousse, I can honestly say is AMAZING! I have been using it for a very long time now and I cannot imagine my hair without it. After washing my hair, and applying some argon oil to the end, I just simply pump a small amount into the palms of my hands, watching the mouse expand and then i simply apply it to my hair, focusing on the middle body and the ends. My hair is naturally curly, so this gives it fabulous definition and stops it from going frizzy.
Superdrug- Samy Fat Amplifying Mousse £5.99

Fragrance
Natural Collection Passionfruit Body Spray
To round up my May beauty favorites is a fragrance. When the weather is warm throughout the summer months for a daily fragrance I prefer to use a body spray, compared to using an aerosol. This one from Boots smells divine and is an excellent price.
Boots- Natural Collection Passionfruit Body Spray- £2

I hope you liked reading my monthly beauty favorites, and having a nosey of what items I have been loving in May.

How To Make Cake Pops

Cake pops are one of the most popular, yummiest sweet treats that have ever been invented and, are perfect for almost any occasion. Although admittedly they look hard to make, with this simple and easy to follow recipe you will be a Cake pop making queen in no time.

What you will need...
Ingredients:
*2 Eggs
*180g Self-raising flour
*120g Butter
*150g Caster sugar
*4 Table spoons of milk
*A big bar of baking chocolate
*Your choice of decoration, (eg. sprinkles)
*2 teaspoons Vanilla extract (optional)

Equipment:
*Cake Pop mold
*A large mixing bowl
*A set of scales
*An electric hand whisk
*One table spoon
*Two teaspoons
*A tall glass
*A wooden spoon
*A microwavable bowl
*Lolly sticks (enough for each Cake Pop)
*A baking tray
*A mug

*An empty egg carton or a piece of polystyrene may to used as a holder for the Cake Pops to stand in.

Step 1. Add both the Butter and caster sugar into a mixing bowl.
Then cream together, using the back of  a wooden spoon until light and fluffy.

Step 2. Next crack the eggs into a mug, and pour in with the flour.
*If you are using vanilla extract this would be the time to put it in.*
Whisk together using an electric hand whisk.

It should form a creamy consistency.

Step 3. You should then grease your mold.
This can be done by rubbing a little bit of butter on some scrunched up tinfoil and, swiped in little circle motions all around both the top and bottom molds to ensure the cake balls do not stick to the silicone.

Step 4. Once greased you should now begin to fill up the bottom mold (the one without the holes in)
with the mixture, ensuring that each is full up to the top
so when cooking it can  rise and form into a perfect ball.

Step 5. After that you should attach the top mold on securely and place onto a baking tray.
Then put into the oven at 180 degrees/ gas mark 4 and bake
for approximately 15-20 minutes.

Step 6. Once cooked, take the tray out of the oven and peel away the top mold.
Leave to cool.

Step 7. When completely cool, loosen the cake balls but still keep them in their molds.
Brake off 2 or 3 pieces from the baking chocolate and melt in the microwave.
Once melted, dip the lolly sticks into the warm chocolate mixture and poke into the cake balls.
After that place in the fridge for 5 minutes.

Step 8. While the cake pops are cooling in the fridge, brake the rest of the chocolate and place in a microwaveable bowl and put in the microwave.
Heat and stir until fully melted.
Once melted pour into a tall glass.

Step 9. Take the Cake Pops out of the fridge and one by one, dip them into the glass of melted chocolate, twirling them over the glass for even coverage and, place the Cake Pops into your holder.
When decorating leave the cake pops for about 1 minute (or until it begins to dry) and then cover/ add your decorations.

*Be sure not to try and add the decorations on too
quickly otherwise they will just slide off.
*If the chocolate dries, dab a little chocolate on the
back of the decoration and stick to the cake pop.

And there you are, you have just successfully mastered the art of Cake Pop making is 9 simple steps.

About My Blog

For a very long time now I have been wanting to create a blog however, I have always put off doing so. A reason for this is because I was scared. Scared of what people's reactions would be, and if anyone actually would read it. Then I realized I have no reason to be worried or frightened about doing so, and if creating my blog and sharing my passions and interests on the internet is what will make me happy then I should just go for it. I would find it so amazing if at any point during the duration of my blogging life (however long that may be), that I would of achieved in helping or inspiring someone in anyway.
My blog- Rosie Posie is going to be about travel, fashion, makeup, food, entertainment, and just life in general. I feel the art of writing and expressing myself and interests for others across the world to view and interact with is such a wonderful thing. I would like to say a huge thank you to who ever may be reading this, I appreciate it dearly and I hope you will enjoy the up coming journey of my blog.
I will be uploading a new post every Sunday and Wednesday evening.
Wow. My first ever blog post.
